A brief history of the projects we've undertaken

Take a look at the projects we've brought to life over the years — each one a step in our journey, showcasing our experience and progress over time.

Tell something about your brand

The idea of Tea Country was born in 2017, when friends in my village started the Fereta Tea Rehabilitation Project, which turned into a local and then international tea cultural route. During this time, we gathered small tea companies around us one after another, which was an important initial stage of this startup, and as a result, today we proudly offer a wide range of Georgian tea, tea tours and tea-related products, carefully selected and prepared for our customers. Our adventure, which began with unconditional enthusiasm, would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing customers, as what started as a simple hobby, first became a startup, and now a company, to put Georgian tea back on the world tea map.

Tea Country - We offer you the best tea and tea tours from Georgia

After the certification of the Tea Cultural Route in 2019, participating in the Zugdidi Startup week in 2021 and winning the prize was the main incentive for turning this project into a business process.

Since then, I have officially registered company "Tea Country" and many great projects have been implemented, such as: marketing strategy; VR tea tours; delivery system, exhibitions, tea menu, literary tea, modern analytical systems and other relevant projects.

According to the historical sources, tea appeared in Georgia more than 200 years ago and in 1900 years, Georgian tea (produced by Lao Jin Zhao) received the award for the best quality at the Paris exhibition, also the first tea picking tractor was created in Georgia in 1963 by Shalva Kereselidze and forty years ago, Georgia was one of the biggest tea producer countries in the world.

Advantage of Georgian tea compared to other countries is, that it contains small amounts of tannins, which is why it has a gentle and soft taste. Also Our tea plantations are located in the north, which gives it different taste and is ecologically 100% organic.

Our European and International partners - Protea Academy APS, Association “Tea grown in Europe”; European Tea Culture Research Circle, Tea Masters Cup, Tea and Coffee Association; FAO and also WG ITT (Int. working group on tea tourism).
